Rosalie Follett was fifty-three years old when her husband died
unexpectedly of septic shock, triggered by the underlying condition
of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia. He was expected to live another
8-10 years.
Prior to her husband´s death in March 2005, Rosalie had been practising
as a professional counsellor, with a special interest in grief.
This interest became her all–consuming, painful, personal experience.
She struggled on a daily basis to combat the chaotic emotions of
grief – deep sadness, anxiety, and the adjustment of suddenly becoming
half a person after thirty-three years of marriage.
Rosalie, who currently lives in Adelaide, has three adult daughters,
two sons-in-law, and a grandson, who has brought great joy amidst
the sadness. She is also a relief teacher of primary-aged children.
Her best stress relievers are visiting the gym and walking; she´s
a firm believer in the benefits of exercise for physical, emotional
and spiritual health. For her, the effort of doing them is well
worth the while!
Central to Rosalie´s life and grief experience is her faith in
God. Throughout her journey, He has expressed kindness in unexpected
ways, and given strength for each new challenge.
Rosalie continues to practise counselling at 288 Montacute Road,
Rostrevor, South Australia, and in suburban Adelaide health centres.
She supports clients in a variety of issues. These include: stress,
anxiety, anger, assertiveness, conflict, moderate depression, personality,
self-esteem, relationships, emotional eating, and sleeping. She
has a sincere empathy for those who struggle, having worked hard
in earlier years to overcome personal issues in several of these
areas.
Rosalie can be contacted by phone on (08) 8396 0792 or by email.
